Within a five mile radius of Dromoland, are the Mediaeval Castles of Bunratty and Knappogue, old O'Brien family strongholds, both of which have nightly banquets. Quin Abbey and Craggaunowenen are also worth a look.

The ragged Cliffs of Moher in north Clare, are one of the most dramatic sights in Europe. Further north to Galway, just one hour away, the gateway to picturesque Connemara and return through the lunar landscape of the Burren. Limerick City, just 15 miles away, is Ireland's oldest city, with Adare, its prettiest village, just beyond.

South to the lakes of Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, all within a day's sightseeing. The Rock of Cashel with its famous ecclesiastical ruins is only an hour away.
